By contrast, updating from LR 6.2.1 to 6.3 on my Win 10 Pro 圆4 machine worked fine yesterday. Is this yet another bug, have others experienced this. I had to roll-back to 6.2.1 using time machine (remarkably painless) to at least see the expected library images again. ‘Great’ I thought, started LR and after the initial splash screen confirming 6.3 was loading (why same image as 6.2 & 6.2.1, you changed it at 6 and again 6.1 & 6.2?) got an error pop-up saying ‘error switching modules’? Looking for help online via Adobe shows this error for 2014 versions and earlier.

Well, my wife’s iMac (El Capitan) showed an update from LR 6.2.1 was available so used the application manager to update (214 MB download) to LR 6.3 and message said update was successful. If you find another bug, click here to report it.

Instead, I’d recommend downloading the patch directly from these links (Windows – Mac) and double-clicking to run the patch installer.

On this occasion I’d recommend caution, as the update system can be slow to access the latest version and you could accidentally install 2015.2.1 / 6.2.1, which is the buggy release. Usually, you can update simply by going to Help menu > Updates or clicking the Update button in the CC app. Some memory cards showing in the Files section of the Import dialog instead of the Devices section, so missing the Eject button.A few people having issues importing videos, solution here.A few people getting an ‘error changing modules’ trying to open Slideshow, solution here.A couple of reports of problems installing, fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling 6.0 then 6.3 (Win/Mac).Update 48 hours later… the good news is I’m hearing loud sighs of relief all around me… it’s still looking good! Phew!Ī week on, it’s still looking good. Of course, if you can’t afford any downtime or you can’t easily roll back a version, it’s sensible to wait a day or two and let others find any unexpected issues! If any notable issues show in up in the next few days, I’ll update this post, but at this stage, it’s looking good.

There are always some small bugs – that’s the nature of software development – but there are no known showstoppers. So far, a limited number of people have been running and testing 2015.3/6.3. The much-awaited Lightroom update is now available, bringing back the old Import dialog and fixing the bugs that were introduced in the last update.
